Bhergaon Sub-division is ready for Assam assembly poll

Bhergaon Sub-division,in the district of Udalguri with two assembly constituencies namely 64 Paneri and 65 Kalaigaon is ready for assembly poll to be held on April 11.A total of 2,67,214 voters (1,24,947 voters in 64 Paneri LAC and 1,42,267 voters in 65 Kalaigaon LAC)will decide the fate of 19 candidates contesting from this Sub-division.There are 10 candidates in Paneri and 9 candidates in Kalaigaon constituencies respectively.The election campaign came to an end in the afternoon of April 9 without any major violance or clashes apart from a few minor incidents where supportes of A,B,C parties (AGP,BPF,Congress) indulged in minor group clashes at some places.
In the mean time sufficient numbers of police and para military forces have arrived at various police stations and vulnerable places to prevent anti social activities.Para military forces have started patrolling on the roads near the polling stations.TR Pegu,SDPO,Bhergaon told media persons that pillion riding had been banned in the Sub-division and movements of two wheelers had also been banned from 6 PM till morning next day.319 numbers of polling stations have already been prepared for the poll.(152 numbers in 64 Paneri LAC and 167 in 65 Kalaigaon LAC)Hectic preparations are on under the supervision of LK Mahanta,SDO (Civil),Bhergaon cum ARO 64 Paneri constituency and Dina Mani Das,Circle Officer cum ARO 65 Kalaigaon constituency. In the mean time Thaneswar Malakar,Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer, Udalguri have appealed voters of the district to excercise their franchse with out any fear or favour.On the occasion,the district administration have published printed letters,leaflets,booklets etc for common people mentioning dos and donots. The district Election Officer appealed all the candidates and political parties to refrain from negative campaigning during the poll day inside or outside of the polling stations.The district and Sub-divisional administation have also appealed all to cooperate with the administration to prevent poll violance and rigging etc.
