Buddhists celebrate Kathina Cibara Danotsav at Paneri

The Buddhist people of Tangla and Paneri celebrated their annual religious event "Kathina Cibara Dana",at Anadhuwa Buddha Vihar Temple near Panery of Udalguri with a two day long programme on October 14 and 15.On the first day eight disciples were given Diksha(Sraman) by Buddha Monk from Duliajam Nandia Bhikku.On the second day a peace rally was organized from the temple premises to Panery.The devotees carrying religious flags and portraits of Buddha chanted “Buddha Dhamma Sangha Ki Jai” in chorus.Earlier in the morning Buddh puja and Sangha Dana was carried out by devotees.In the evening the main event "Kathina Cibara Dana" was held where new robes were offered to the Bhikkhu Sangha,followed by religious meet that congregated for the occasion and prayed for the people of the world.The celebrations were concluded by lighting of candles and sky lanterns in the evening.The devotees expressed their gratitude to the people of Paneri and organizing committee for the successful completion of the event.
